Having Some Fun

In the last month, we have transitioned the kiddos to new mattresses. We are hoping soon to have new beds for them too, but for now they are enjoying the new sleeping arrangements! Bubbie has started wanting to sleep in Boo's bed. Thankfully this only lasted a couple of nights before he decided that his bed is just fine. I think mainly because Boo kept waking him up since she was upset by him stealing all the blankets.

They both enjoyed going to the store to pick out new sheets for their beds. Boo chose Tinkerbell and Bubbie chose Disney's Cars. Bubbie loves Lightening McQueen and Mater! I think they also enjoyed making a decision by themself, you know they want to be so independent!

Peek-a-boo!!
(Once again, blogger is changing the layout of the photo. I have no idea how to fix this.)

It cracks me up how Boo starts laughing before she is even tickled. We were playing with her on our bed and all we had to do was hold our hands up like we were going to tickle her and she would throw herself down and start giggling, too cute!!

The Boy Likes to Dance!!

We were watching a show this last Tuesday afternoon and a music video came on, Replay by Iyaz, and Bubbie started dancing all over the place. I started to record and he stopped shaking his bootay, but he kept his arms going. This is apparently the only song he will dance to, so cute!!

New Photos of the Kids

Their new pictures came out so well! I can't believe how fast they are growing up, neither of them look like babies any more. These photos are proof of how much they have changed in the last 7-8mths, even from just this last December! It is true, they grow right before your very eyes.

Also check out the other two on the side of the blog! Aren't they adorable?

Happy Valentine's Day(Belated)

Despite the melancholy mood around here the last couple weeks, we decided to have fun for Valentine's Day. It helped when these beautiful flowers and chocolates arrived from my sweetie!

We did some baking too. Aunt T sent us a thing to make heart shaped dessert of your choice. We made heart shaped cupcakes for Mommy and Daddy and then miniature ones for Bubbie and Boo.

Then the kids had a couple little Valentine's gifts to open.

And Daddy too! I bought him some chocolate, hehehe!

Bubbie and Boo enjoyed their heart shaped ring pops.

Boo liked combing her ponies hair.

It was a great day!!

Finally An Update

I know I am not keeping up on this blog as much as I would like to. It seems as though time passes so quickly these days! One day just runs into the next and before I know it, the day has passed and its tomorrow already.

Now for an update on Bubbie's speech therapy. Bubbie is doing really well with his speech therapy teacher. He talks in complete sentences now, though it can still be difficult to understand at times. I find that I am often the interpreter for Bubbie so that Daddy and family can understand him. He gets really frustrated when he is adamantly trying to communicate and can't be understood, poor kid. Fundamentally he gets it, but the pronunciations are what we are working on now. The best thing about speech therapy is that now Bubbie can tell me "I love you Mommy" and I understand him clearly. No sweeter words have ever been spoken!! I also love when he has to tell Boo sorry and gives her kiss and hug. He will say "Sorry Boo(insert her name here)". Bubbie also asks for Pop Tarts clearly as well as a Burrito. I almost think he talks better at home than he does for Ms. Molly.

Bubbie also has started really getting into TV shows(I'm still not sure this is a good thing, LOL!). He can clearly ask for Phineas and Ferb, Fresh Beat Band and Backyardigans. Those are his top picks of shows, oh and he also has become a fan of Handy Manny of which he also has started asking for. Honestly I feel as though Bubbie has come a long way in his speech! I also honestly think that when he gets into school and around other kids, that he will just improve by leaps and bounds! His teacher and I disagree on that, but I feel that I know my son best.

Boo amazes me everyday! She repeats everything that Bubbie says. Just yesterday she called to me from her bed when she woke up and said, "I want apple juice Mommieee!" It made me laugh! Again cuter words, never spoken! She asks for "nanas"(short for banana), milk, cheese, cracker and cheerios. She is a girl that knows what she wants and she will figure out how to communicate that to you no matter what it takes. Boo is very determined. She also cracks me up because she carries her baby and blankie all over the house, she is never without and if you put her to bed without either of these, she will ask, "Baby?" or "Bwankie?" Too cute!

I also decided to share some photos from last weekend. We were cheering for KU, Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!

Kiss Kiss Bubbie, LOL!

Just sit back and relax....KUs got this!

Might be nap time, hehe

Boo sees the perfect opportunity to tickle her brother.(Again Blogger changed the direction of my photo. This is annoying and I don't know how to fix it, sorry.)

New Floors and Other Fun Things

Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa stopped in for a little visit with Bubbie and Boo. They brought some goodies for the kiddos while they were here and the kids have played with their toys nonstop since receiving them.

Before their arrival, Daddy and I had talked about Grandma and Grandpa coming and bringing Bubbie a Monster Truck. For a couple of weeks now, all Bubbie could talk about was getting a "Monner Truck", as he calls it. Bubbie saw this "monner truck" at Target before Christmas and talked nonstop about it and about how cool it was! When Grandma called to ask what Bubbie wanted, of course I told her about the monster truck. You can imagine his excitement when he finally opened his "monner truck"!

Boo it seems has wanted a tea set for some time too. Everytime we had to walk through the toy section for gifts and such, she would pick up a tea set and put it in the cart. I took the hint and told Grandma about it. Needless to say, she has been pleased at peach pie to play with her new set. She had originally received one for her birthday, but Bubbie kept taking off with it and I think she grew frustrated with that. Over time Bubbie has lost the pieces to the set, which I'm sure are still around here, just take some digging. The nice thing about this set, is they share it nicely and then put it back in its container when they are done with it. Its so funny watching Bubbie and Boo pretend to put sugar and milk in the tea, stir it and then sip it, LOVE IT!!

Showing off their goodies from Grandma and Grandpa. They love their new outfits too!

Tea for two!!

Don't they share so nicely, most of the time.

Also this last week, Daddy finally finished our new floors in the Kitchen and Front Hallway!! Here are the after photos of the new floors. I believe somewhere in the archives of this blog, I have the before photos. I'll have to do some digging, LOL!! Also don't mind the dust, the floors still need to be cleaned from being installed. It seems we are cannot mop until the floors are sealed and we can't seal them for two weeks.

Holiday Tidbits

On Monday, Bubbie received a package in the mail from his Great Uncle C and his second Cousin H. He was so excited when I told him the package was for him, he said to me "Package for Bubbie!" Bubbie just thought it was the greatest thing getting a package in the mail.

This shirt, I believe, was his favorite. When he pulled it out he said, "Boat!!" It was so cute! Bubbie LOVES clothes and is very opininated about them, so when he says he LIKES them, you can be rest assured that he does.

Daddy has had this week off, from Christmas Eve through New Year's. Since he has this time off from work, he has been working on our floors in the Kitchen and front Hallway. Bubbie has reached an age where he likes to help and because of this, Daddy decided to let him help with putting tape on each tile so he could mark them. Bubbie just thought this was the greatest thing ever!! We decided to take some photos of Bubbie being his helpful self.

Keep your fingers crossed, hopefully soon we will have a fully functional kitchen again!! That would certainly be a great way to ring in the New Year!! Happy New Year's Eve everybody, enjoy celebrating the end of 2009!
