Fire Truck!

I have been slacking on the blog for a couple of weeks now. It has been hard to get back into the rhythm of things since getting back from vacation. Any who, let me tell you a little background information!!

You know about Bubbie's obsession with planes, trains and windmills, but I don't think I've mentioned how WILD he is about Fire Trucks. Whenever we go to play dates, if there is a Fire Truck to play with, Bubbie always makes a b-line to play with it! Several times we had been to the Toy Store(known around here as Toys R Us)and he has asked for a Fire Truck. Finally last week, since he did so well with his first two sessions of speech therapy, we decided to let him pick out a Fire Truck. The one he picked is pictured below and it NEVER leaves his side, NEVER.

When we bought the truck, he carried it in the box on the way home from the store. When we arrived home, he proceeded to try and tear it out of the box, but you know how complicated that packaging can be! Once it was out of the box, he started taking it everywhere with him, even to bed. Yes, to bed. He refuses to go to bed unless he has his blankie and the Fire Truck!

Knowing how crazy Bubbie is about Fire Trucks(he even waves at them as they drive by, LOL!), I decided that we would take the opportunity to tour a local Fire Station with our Meetup group. I had really expected a grand reaction to the trucks when he saw them up close and personal, but once again, I was underwhelmed by his response. Bubbie almost had a I don't care look on his face and then proceeded to play with his Fire Truck. However, since Daddy came home, Fire Trucks is all he has been talking about. I don't know if he truly enjoyed the experience or not, but it sure has seemed to at least make an impression!

He finally posed for a photo with the Fire Truck. He looks so adorable in his Red, White and Blue! His favorite color choices for now.

Kind of hard to see, but this is Bubbie up on the Fire Truck. He was really unsure about this.

Below is a picture of the Fourth of July hair bows that I've been working on this last weekend. They have been a lot of fun to make!

Bubbie's Scenery

This is a picture of the kiddos playing with their souvenirs from Butte, Montana. Grandpa H said to get them something to play with and this what they each picked out! The kids loved the balls so much, that it was a way to entertain and pass the time.

I may have mentioned it before, but I'm going to mention it again. One of the things we discovered while driving to and from Seattle, was that Bubbie really likes planes, trains and wind farms. I mean REALLY LIKES them! We got to hear about each and every single one that he saw and when you are traveling for two and half days, well you can imagine how many planes, trains and wind farms we got to hear about.

Somewhere along the way, we discovered that if we took pictures of said objects and then hand him the camera to view the photo, he would stare at it for several minutes. Bubbie at some point also started telling us to take pictures of said objects by putting his hands up to his face in a pretend camera fashion(adorable by the way). I thought I would share a few of these photos, I hope they are enjoyed half as much as they were by Bubbie!

Happy Father's Day!

One day late, but better late than never! Yesterday we spent most of the morning and afternoon, letting Daddy sleep in. When he awoke, I gave him a card and we had pancakes and eggs for breakfast, or more like lunch. Also as part of celebrating, we took Daddy clothes shopping on the Sunday prior to Father's Day. I think he enjoyed that, though I'm not completely sure.

We also had dinner with my In-laws, so we could celebrate with Granddad. There was plenty of great food to over eat! I think it was a good day over all.

Announcement

PLEASE PRAY for Stellan! He really needs it now. Stellan is back in the PICU and I really feel for him and his family. If you want to read about Stellan, you can head to http://www.mycharmingkids.net/

On that note, I also want to announce that one week from today, Boo will be seeing her Pediatric Cardiologist(PC) and we will be finding out if she can come off of her medication. Be prepared, because if Boo is able to be off of the meds and its successful, we are so going to PARTY!! I was thinking the following Sunday will be a great day for celebration. Please let me know if you are interested in celebrating with us!

I hope that some day the MckFamily will know the joy of celebrating the end of SVT also!

Graduation

Here are a few photos from my Niece's High School Graduation(the main reason for the road trip). Excuse some of my photos, the seats weren't the best, but I still enjoyed the ceremony!

A bit hard to see, but this is my Niece E getting her diploma.

All the parents had to make a board for the kids graduating, this is E's that Aunt T stayed up the whole night working on. Aunt T did a great job!

A photo of the girls! My Niece E and my Sister(in case you can't tell) Aunt T.

Road Trip Part 3

I'm thinking I will have to do a post just on the scenery that we saw on our road trip. We have so many photos of the mountains and animals that we saw along the way. I definitely learned on this trip, that there is no shortage of beautiful scenery in our great country of America! Its too bad that it is taken for granted. All the times I have flown to Seattle, WA and I've missed the beautiful sights. I've grown a new appreciation for our world!

Taken in Oregon in the late evening. Isn't that water gorgeous!!

Here are a few photos from our Argosy Cruise and the tour of the Harbors.

These are a few from the Pacific Science Center. They had a tropical butterfly house and a toddler play area, which we enjoyed both thoroughly!

Road Trip Part 2

Once we arrived at my Sister's house, we were given a tour of their Apartment above their boat house. That is where we stayed while we visited and it couldn't have been a better spot for us!

Our first day of touring, we went to the Seattle Zoo with Aunt T and the kiddos. Of course we forgot to take the camera with us, but we did have a lot of fun! At the Zoo, we bought a City Pass and that is how we were able to go so many places. Such as, the Zoo, the Argosy Cruise, the Seattle Space Needle, twice, The Museum of Flight and Science Center. You could also go to the Aquarium, but we ran out of time. So as you can see, our trip was packed full of activity and lots of walking!

For a few of those days, we left the kids with their Aunt T and we just went the two of us! I can't remember the last time we were able to spend so much time together and we are so thankful for that! Especially since Aunt T had her hands full with E's graduation activities. Aunt T is the BEST!! It was so nice to have so much support from family while we were there.

These are few photos of our adventure out on Uncle R's boat!

My Niece, E. She did a good job of keeping Bubbie entertained.

Boo and I just enjoying the ride.

We went to The Museum of Flight, which was Daddy's favorite part I think!

We were driving back to Aunt T's and Uncle R's house and this guy was in the middle of the road.

Sorry, these pictures are in no particular order. I am only posting them in the order that they are in, in my files on my computer. Hope they aren't overwhelming!
