My New Love!

My new Vera Bradley purse! This was my early Birthday present. I absolutely LOVE IT!

This will probably be my last post until after our vacation in Seattle, WA. We will be leaving this weekend and getting back around the 9th of June! So there will be plenty of pictures and stories to share, I am sure. Until then take some time to look over some photos if you haven't already or if you are feeling a little nostalgic! I know I do sometimes. Hasta Luego!!

Catching Up

Bubbie helping Daddy to water our sad little garden.

Hopefully next year we can make it a great garden!

This Memorial Day weekend, we spent at my Parent's house. We headed up Saturday and on Sunday we all went to Kansas City. We first went to Oak Park Mall and then onto the Plaza. It was a bit hectic being that we lacked communication and planning, but we all still had some fun! Yesterday we went to visit my Grandpa's grave sight and left some of my Mom's beautiful flowers for him and then we headed for home. It was nice to see my Grandpa's grave, being that I hadn't seen it since his funeral over 3 years ago. Time really does fly, especially when you add having kids in the mix.

Speaking of that, while we were at my Parent's house, Boo decided to start WALKING!!

Just in case you missed it, here is a short video!

She is officially a toddler now, so sad! Boo hoo!

Distractions

These wrap up my work on some that I've been working on for a friend. I made her two 5" bows and 4 pairs of 3-3.5" bows! Her daughters shall have some fun with those, I hope they like them!

These are some that I've made to match a couple of Boo's dresses that she received for her birthday. They turned out really well. I'll post pictures of them with the dresses later!

As you can see, all my free time has been spent working on my reCreations. This weekend though, I will be taking a little break while we visit my Parent's. Hope you enjoy and I'll will be back after our Holiday weekend, if not sooner!

The Weekend Hullaballoo! Part 2

The Male Tiger

Boo checking out the Tigers

Female Tigers, there were actually two, but the picture I got of the two together, one Tiger was licking her boody, so I decided to not post that picture.

Bubbie checking out the Tigers

This is the Tiger's prey. Obviously in a different exhibit, but that is what they call the exhibit.

As I posted in the last blog, these are our photos from our sneak peak of the new Tiger Exhibit. It was a really neat exhibit and we had fun, even if we had to wait half and hour in line to get in. Totally worth it!

The Weekend Hullaballoo! Part 1

Bubbie checking out one of his favorite animals at the Zoo, Penguins!

Don't wake the sleeping bears, rawrrr!

Had to take a picture, to prove that there really are Mexican Wolves at the Zoo. Though this is the first time we have actually seen them.

Bubbie in astonishment of what we are seeing.

There are so many photos to share from this last Sunday, that I am going to have to break it up into two posts. We met up at the Zoo with Grandmom, Aunt TF Aunt M&M to go to the sneak preview of the new Tiger Exhibit! More on that in the next post.

After we visited the Tigers, we met up with some friends from back in the day and they now have a six month old boy. These particular photos are from our walking around. Bubbie had to stop and see every single animal along the way. There was no skipping for him, he was not having it. Its so fun watching how observant he is of the animals now. After the Zoo, we went to to a Meet and Greet Picnic with my SAHM's group and had a lot of fun, but ended up having to leave a little early because Bubbie had not had a nap that day and it was beginning to show. We arrived home sometime around 7:30pm and gave the kids a bath and they were both in bed by 8:00pm. They both also slept until 9:00 this morning, which was very nice for me!

Oh and don't think I could do a post without showing you some more of my reCreations!!

This video was taken on Thursday. Boo had actually walked a few steps from our automan to the back door, so afterwards we were doing everything we could to get her to do it again, enjoy!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

What have I NOT been doing this week? Well it was NOT ME that has completely abandoned the laundry this week, nope, NOT I. I would never do that! I would never wash a bunch of laundry only to let it collect on the sofa and then proceed to dig through the laundry to get the kids dressed. Nope, NOT ME! I'm entirely too organized for that.

It also was NOT ME that decided that Bar-B-Q potato chips would suffice for lunch today, being that it was NOT I that let the grocery shopping go by the way side this last week. I would never allow potato chips in this house, much less as a meal, NOT ME!

Its also NOT been me that has completely let the house cleaning get off track, as I work on my new hobby of making hair bows. I would NEVER let a hobby take over my responsibilities, NOT ME! It's also NOT ME, that can't remember when the last time I vacuumed the house. Nope, NOT ME, I vacuum every day!

More of my reCreations!

2" Hair Bows $2.50 Each or Two for $4.00

2.5" to 3" Hair Bows $2.50 or Two for $4.00

5" Hair Bow for $4.50

Well, now I feel as though I have finally mastered my craft! Of course I can only improve from here! I really hope everyone enjoys and I also hope that I can sell a few. I already have two of my friends interested(Thank you J and L!!).

Today I went and bought some more ribbon to play with and I really feel like I have come to a point where I feel comfortable with selling my creations. Hopefully this weekend, I can start working on my friend's hair bows and get those off to her and her girls soon! Wish me luck!

Weekly Baking Project and Other Creative Things

Daddy and Bubbie made chocolate chip cookies tonight, while I worked on making hair bows! My new hobby! I've spent my whole afternoon reading and practicing making bows and then making some this evening. Its actually a lot of fun and very relaxing! Below are some pictures of my work. I'm hoping to be able to sell some if there is interest. We could really use some extra cash these days, but then, who couldn't? Enjoy!

All of these are on alligator clips. I chose the double prong ones because they have a stronger grip on the hair, no slip! I also have some barrette style clips for older girls.

Boo approves!

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Ok, I've decided to give this a shot! Where do I start, umm....
Well it certainly was Not Me that after having a discussion with my Hubby about how tight money is and that we need to save for our trip, I Did Not then proceeded to go and buy a bunch of ribbon for making hair bows. Not Me! I would never!

When my kids drop their food on the floor after I just handed it to them, I certainly Do Not pick it back up, blow it off and then hand it back to them. I would Never do such a thing, that's disgusting.

Something else that I would Never Do, is when my son poops his pants while we are currently potty training, I would Never make my Hubby have to clean it up. That would just be incredibly inconsiderate of me! Also today, while at a meetup with my SAHM's group and my boy pooped his pants, I Did Not get embarrassed and upset and parade him into the bathroom and make him strip down. That would be mean, I would Never want to embarrass my boy like that, in hopes that he wouldn't do it again, Not Me, Never!

If you enjoyed that, check out what everyone else is Not Doing!

Happy Mother's Day!

Us at Hooter's(excuse the quality, its a cell phone picture)enjoying my free Mother's Day meal!

Boo really liked her balloon, though it only lasted for about 2 minutes before it floated up to the ceiling.

The hair bows that I made and am currently considering selling if there is interest!

Today started out with my sleeping in until 9am and then leisurely getting ready for our day out. Once we left the house, we went to Starbucks for a cafe' mocha with peppermint, then onto Sugar Sister's Bakery for one of their awesome cupcakes(Which by the way, they do a Mother's Day Brunch. I'll have to remember that for next year!).

After stuffing our faces, we went to Micheal's to pick out some ribbon so that I can make some hair bows for my baby girl. I'm always so disappointed by the lack of choices when I go to the store and decided that I can make bows just as well as anyone. I think I did pretty good for my first try and maybe with a little practice, I can only imagine the possibilities!

After our shopping, we went to Hooter's. They were offering a free meal for Mom's today and I decided to take advantage. I love their wings and their chocolate caramel cheesecake, yumm.....After we finished up at Hooter's we went to pick up a few groceries at Target and then came home to wind down after an active day. Now I am finishing it up by working on some hair bows and laundry, oh the joys of Motherhood!

Happy Mother's Day!

Change of Mind

Due to the "overwhelming" response I got, I am going to go ahead and end the torture now. The name this blog contest is over.I will get back to what this blog was really intended for, the kids and the hope that some day we can all look back on this and remember the good 'ole days. For those who do read this and enjoy it, I hope you also continue to do so!

Spring Showers Bring May Flowers

Unless those flowers get drowned in those showers! Who knew Kansas had a monsoon season? At least that is what it has felt like around here. For the last couple of weeks, it has seemed to rain nonstop and I have to say that I am growing very TIRED and FRUSTRATED with it! Usually I can appreciate a nice rainy, stormy day and find them to be very relaxing. In fact falling asleep to the sound of thunder is one of my top favorite things, but you really can get too much of a good thing! I find myself becoming lethargic and depressed from the lack of sun and from the lack of being outdoors. Another favorite thing of mine, is to sit on the back porch while the kids play and also at night, while we star gaze. That is awful hard to do when the cushions on the furniture are soaking wet!

Also, due to all the rain, our basement keeps filling up with water and we now currently have a layer of dirt(was once mud)on the basement floor. The house is starting to smell of that lovely mold and mildew must. We keep bleaching the basement as well as putting down some vinegar, but every time it rains, we have to start over.

Yesterday and this morning must have been some kind of fluke, because it was beautiful! Yesterday was sunny and 86 degrees out! We celebrated by going to our favorite park, Eastborough Park with our Meetup Stay at Home Mom's group. It was the most perfect day for the park and it was a nice break from the lack of sunlight. Though admittedly I have to say that I've been feeling like I don't fit in with my SAHM groups. I'm not sure as to why, but I am starting to slowly lose interest in the message boards and socializing. Perhaps its just not meeting my needs, as it once did. I don't know, but I wish I could find some kind of social outlet. Though I did get a night out this week with my best friend Mrs. P and we had fun just getting coffee and walking around Target. I also used the gift card that Mrs. P gave Boo for her birthday and bought two cute little outfits for Boo.

Anyway, today started out being beautiful! It was nice to wake up to, but now its all grey again and looking like we will be getting more rain. I can't wait until the rain goes away, but then we will probably be praying for rain then, because it will be so dry. I've said it many times before and I will say it many times again, Only in Kansas!

The Party Girl

Our cake was from Cheri's Bakery, they did an awesome job! The cake was banana flavor with vanilla cream filling, it was delicious!

This was Boo's Mash Cake, it was free with her cake!!

"Happy Birthday to You!"

What am I supposed to do with this?

Umm, tastes good

And that is why they call it a "Mash Cake"!

Bubbie decided to help Boo out, since he is so experienced with this yearly tradition.

Boo got some great gifts for her Birthday. She loved this baby doll that came from Aunt J and her girls.

She also loved the tea set from Aunt E!

And Grandma H made her a fairy skirt.

This is the doll that Boo picked out as her gift from us.

Here are the cousins, A and G

Grandma H and Bubbie getting the bubble machine to work.

Boo donning her Birthday outfit with Mrs. A

We had one full house yesterday!

My cousins, T and R and one of my three sisters, we will call her Mrs. HT. I was so thankful that my family, especially my cousins, made the trek down here to see us for Boo's special day! It made the day even more special. Thanks guys! Also congrats to my cousin T and his girlfriend.

For Boo's birthday, we had a Baby-Q. Thankfully the weather was somewhat agreeable and we were able to cook out on the grill. It did rain a little, but it didn't seem to stop anyone from venturing out onto the deck. We(I)decided to do a Fairy Princess theme, mainly because we(I)love fairies! Boo also, to me, looks like a fairy. The cake couldn't have turned out any better(or tasted any better)and we were very pleased with the turn out. It was a fun day had by all!
