My Mischevious Girl

Boo keeps changing on me everyday! Today she started standing without support for a few seconds at a time. It won't be long now until she is walking. She already gets into things and puts everything IN HER MOUTH! It drives me nuts having to pull things out of her mouth, no less than every 10 minutes. Bubbie was one to never put anything in his mouth, except his pacifier, so I'm not used to this. Boo is teaching me what babies are all about. All I can think is if she can get into this much trouble now, whats in store for the future? Today, after taking a box of Puffs away from her, oh I don't know like 10 times, this evening she got all quiet. I've been sick all day with a glorious cold, so I haven't been as attentive today as I usually am. Here are some pictures of what I found when I finally noticed that she was being so quiet. She managed to pull out every wipe in the package and thankfully did not put them in her mouth, but she sure enjoyed playing with them! Mischevious this one is!

Wild Things

Sunday, we went to the Zoo with Bubbie and Boo's Granddad. It was a little chilly, but we stuck to the indoor exhibits, mostly, so it wasn't too bad. Bubbie wore his hat for the first 20 mins and then I couldn't get him to wear it the rest of the time. Doesn't he look handsome in it though? I'm glad I got a picture of it when I had the chance. Bubbie was particularly fond of the penguins this time around and I have a video to share on that. Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch Bubbie saying "fishy, fishy" to the penguins, so sad. It is so much fun going to the Zoo because both kids get into it more each time we go. I also will add photos later as I get them from their Granddad.

Nine Month Photos

Isn't she just a cutie! I can't believe how big she is getting. Its so sad that Boo is getting closer to being a toddler and not so much a newborn any more. She recently has started walking along the furniture, won't be long now before she takes off, right before my very eyes. They really do grow up too fast!

Weekly Baking Project, Brownies

Bubbie likes to help with baking and cooking in the kitchen, so once a week I like to do a little baking projects with him. Daddy was out for a Daddy's night out, so it was a perfect night to do a fun baking project. We like to buy the Pillsbury Funfetti mixes, they make for a lot of fun for Bubbie. I mixed the brownie mix and Bubbie sprinkled the "Funfetti" candies. He really liked sprinkling those on, but he especially liked eating some of them off of the counter! While we were waiting on them to bake, he kept going to the oven and pointing and saying "hot!" He is such a smart boy! I may yet have to get him a play kitchen, as much as he loves baking and cooking. He also is a great helper at emptying the dishwasher! After the rough week we had, its good to see him as his usual happy self.

On that note, Bubbie has his third ear infection in about a months time. The Doctor told us yesterday that if he gets another one, they will have to put tubes in his ears. They also plan on doing a hearing test when he recovers from his ear infection. I sure hope everything works out ok, I'm not sure I can handle my Son having to have a procedure done, such as having tubes put in his ears. I really think though, that his hearing is fine. I recently bought some flash cards for Bubbie to practice saying some words and one of which was apple, after hearing that word, he repeated it several times. He also now will walk up to me and tell me "bread" or "milk." Oh and it was so cute this morning, he kept saying "outside" and bringing us his shoes. It really was the cutest thing ever! If this trend continues, I think we will have a real talker on our hands!

Hair Dos

Today was a busy day. I had to do my Niece's hair for a Homecoming Dance. She came over and watched the kids, while Hubby and I went to lunch with a few friends. I figured it a good trade off for doing her makeup and hair. Beautiful isn't she? She is growing up so fast!! Its hard to believe that she is just 15 years old.

Cabin Fever

For the last couple of weeks, I've been feeling really tired and stressed to the max! So yesterday I went to a meet up with the group of Moms, at the Mall play area. It was great getting out of the house and the kids took such a good nap yesterday. Bubbie has been acting up something awful lately, so I figured that he also was getting cabin fever. Today we went for a play date and Bubbie did really well, playing with the other kids. He is really getting better about sharing toys. He will usually pick up two or three toys and try to hoard them and that is when I tell him to pick one and let someone else play with the others. So today he did exactly as he usually does and I told him the same thing I say every time, over and over, sounding like a broken record. He did as he was told and was a very well behave little man. I was relieved after the morning we had, when I kept telling him to bring me his socks and he would just give me his eye roll. Not my favorite response. Its amazing how a 2 year old that barely says a word, can sass me so much without even saying a word. Oh and by the way, where did this eye roll come from? I can't figure out where that came from, but I don't like it! After our play date, we had to run to Target because we were all out of formula(I so miss the breastfeeding days). While at there, I bought a little Mack truck for Bubbie and a cute little shirt for my baby Boo. I shouldn't have, but what can I say, I have no control when it comes to shopping. I blame my Dad, we share the same problem with money burning a hole, LOL! It was so cute though, when I laid Bubbie down for his nap, he took his Mack truck to bed with him, adorable!

Speaking of which, ever since he has seen the movie "Cars" last Sunday night on TV, he is obsessed with everything "Cars." He has one "Cars" shirt and a sweatshirt that he wants to wear everyday! Washing it every night is not going to keep working for me, so I guess I'm going to have to go shopping for some "Car" stuff. So between "Backyardigans" and "Cars," this boy is going to break the bank for us! It is cute though, him and his little ways of controlling his environment. Sometimes annoying. Should make for a busy weekend! Oh yea, last night Bubbie said "bread," so exciting. He is on this new kick of going to the fridge and grabbing a slice of bread to eat. Bubbie loves bread, of all the things in that fridge. He asked Daddy for "bread" since he couldn't get in the fridge with Daddy cooking. Our stove is right by the refridgerator. We were so excited, that we spent the rest of the night trying to get him to say it again! Oh what our lives have become!

Home Improvements

Here are some photos of our recent work done on the house. This work is being done in an attempt to stop the flooding in our basement when it rains. They had to dig all they way down to the foundation to seal the walls and then build the dirt back up to make water drain away from the house. The driveway, they built up to angle away from the house. It was just completed yesterday. Wonder how long it will take to dry? Until then we are forced to park our cars in the street. Which worries me a little because even though we have little crime in our neighborhood, we do get a lot of car vandals with cars that are parked in the street. Really though, our street hasn't had any that we've seen, since we moved in three years ago. That can probably be attributed to the great neighbors that we have!

Random Photos For Admiring

A Valentine's Treat

Just thought I would share a couple of Valentine's photos. I baked a cake for Bubbie and Boo as their Valentine's gift. They both enjoyed it, I was surprised how good it tasted! Came out very moist too, best cake I've ever baked, so far!
Well, I finally decided it was time to join the blogging world for the sake of those in my family that don't have the privilege of being close to us. This will be a venue for us to share a little of our everyday life as a family of four.
