This Blog Has Gone to Poop!

Yesterday we had a successful first poopy in the potty! Sorry, had to share the excitement. It started with noticing that Bubbie was pulling on his pants and I told him not to go poopy in his pants, that he needed to go on the potty. He sat down next to me on the sofa and we had a dicussion about going in the potty. Then I proceeded to show him his prizes for going poo on the potty. After our discussion, I tried to get him to sit on my lap, but then noticed that he wasn't wanting to sit at all. I thought to myself, he is trying to hold it and it is likely hurting him. At that point I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty, which resulted in the typical response of "no." Then I convinced him it would be in his best interest to sit on the potty, by showing him his prizes. He sat there for a good 10 minutes, looking at books(he will grow into such a good Man, LOL!)and the next thing I know he went! We danced and he was proud when he got to flush it down the potty. Then he was excited to get his prizes, a sticker book of the "Cars" and a Hot Wheels. We also had ice cream with Reddi Whip and chocolate for lunch to celebrate!

Also, today will be a hard day for PT(potty training) because our upstairs toilet is unusable due to tearing out the bathroom floor yesterday. Hopefully Daddy will get it put back together tonight. If one has seen our downstairs bathroom, then you would understand why I've been holding it since I woke up and am currently dumping Bubbies potty out back. I affectionately call the downstairs bathroom our Shit Fountain(excuse my language please). That is because once a year our tree roots plug things up and literally the water comes spuing out, as though it were a fountain. Except it has suage in it, so you can imagine the glorious smell and thus the name that I call it.

Ok, now that this blog has gone to poop, I will stop talking about poopy on or in the potty!

The Winds of Change

How do you like that chocolate ice cream face!

Potty training has been going so well, almost too easy, um..... Anyway, Bubbie has stayed dry for 2 days now with no accidents, except poopy. Still can't convince him to do that, but really I can't complain considering we are only on day 3 of PT. Bubbie has also been napping in his underdunders and managed to stay dry. He also has been staying dry through the night, but he wears a pull-up to bed, just in case. Bubbie really can't wait though to put on his underdunders first thing when he wakes up! I'm so happy that he is so happy with PT! I guess waiting was the best thing to do.

My baby girl is getting so big, right before my very eyes!

The humidity lately has styled her hair into adorable little curls!(If you look closely, you can actually see her teeth in this picture. That is a first people!)

Aren't those the most beautiful blue eyes? Not that I'm biased or anything.

Wow, I can't believe how big my baby is getting. With Boo's first birthday just a few days away, reality is starting to set in. So I thought that I would share Boo's birth story, feel free to read or just admire the pictures!

Boo didn't want to come out, so on May 1st, my OB stripped my membranes. Later that night, around 11pm, I felt a strange "POP" in my belly and then the labor ensued. Turned out that strange "POP" was my water breaking, which we found out as I arrived at the Hospital at around midnight. The labor was quick and I was able to do a successful VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean). I only had to push for about 15 mins. and Boo was born at 10:18am on May 2nd. She was 7lbs. 10oz. and 19" long.

About five minutes after she was born, the nurse was listening to her heart and noticed that it was beating excessively fast. Ten minutes after she was born, the Doctor that runs the NICU was up in our room with about 20 other people, doing an EKG. The next thing I know is the NICU Doctor(we will call him Dr. B)was spouting a bunch of medical vocabulary that I had no understanding of, but finished with saying that Boo had SVT(supraventricular tachycardia)and that they would need to take her to the NICU immediately. Her heart would beat up to 300bpm, normal is around 175bpm at that age, I believe. I was only able to hold her for five minutes before she was taken from me and followed by Daddy. All I could do at that point was cry and cry I did as I called my Father to tell him what had just happened. It had all happened so fast, that it was all just a blur.

I remember wanting to be with her, but I was hesitant to visit her for fear that I was going to lose her. I had never been so scared for my child, as I was that day. After almost a week in the NICU, Boo was able to come home, but only to return to the NICU after only being home for one day. Boo's medications had to be adjusted to control her SVT, but it wasn't easy. They kept telling us that it would only take a week and then she could come home, but then a week turned into two weeks, then three and the next thing we know, she was there for a month. Every time she would get close to coming home, she would flip into SVT and they would have to start over again. It was frustrating! Finally after 5 weeks in, she was released. A day that we weren't sure was going to happen. We have been so lucky to have had her home since!

Isn't it amazing how much things can change in just ONE YEAR?! Boo goes back to her Pediatric Cardiologist on the third week of June and we are hoping that at that appointment, everything will be perfect. If everything looks well, she will get to come off of her meds, so keep your fingers crossed!

Also on a side note, Congrats Stellan and the Mckfamily on Stellan's release from the hospital! I'm glad to see that he will be able to go home to his family. Life just doesn't get any better than that! I will continue to pray for you and encourage others to do the same! Pee Pee on the Potty!!

After some time had passed from my last post, Bubbie WENT PEE PEE ON THE POTTY! We could not have been more excited! Bubbie was so proud of himself that we did the Pee Pee on the Potty dance and paraded his pee pee to the bathroom. He showed Daddy his prizes for going pee pee in the potty. Bubbie picked out a spider sticker and got a Hot Wheels(his most favorite toy)! I hope this is the beginning of something NEW!

BTW, Daddy got him to go pee pee on the potty by letting him play the bowling game on Daddy's phone. Isn't that the cutest! Now we are going to celebrate with some "chocwate ice cweem," as Bubbie would say.

Potty Training

Today started out with my doing some spring cleaning. I cleaned out the kid's closets and have three bags of baby stuff to donate to Goodwill. It seems so surreal to have reached this point with the kids. I can officially say that I no longer have an infant. I am now the mother of two toddlers! Isn't that crazy! I know, officially Boo isn't one yet, but she will be in one week. Also, Boo isn't officially walking yet either, but that will happen soon enough. Where has the time gone? Are we sure I've been present the entire time? As I said before, it is so surreal! Its crazy to remember that this time last year, I was so tired of being pregnant with Boo, that I refused to leave the sofa. How quickly time passes.

In the midst of cleaning out the random baby stuff, I realized that I don't REALLY need a diaper bag anymore. This has been a staple for us when leaving the house for that last 2 and half years, that I may feel like I'm missing an appendage. Then I had a realization, I may actually need to buy a PURSE, for the first time in 3 years! Admittedly, I have to say I'm actually excited by this realization.

So anyway, in my thinking about the past, present and future. I've decided that it has also come the time to potty train Bubbie. He is officially 2 and half now. Bubbie for the last couple of weeks has been telling me when he is going potty in his diaper and also letting me know when he was stinky. Yesterday I bought some cheap stickers from Target and some Hot Wheels, for rewards for going pee pee in the potty! So far we have not been successful and he has soiled several pairs of underwear and shorts. WE ARE NOT GIVING UP, we will just keep trying until we are successful. Our goal is to have him somewhat potty trained by Boo's first birthday, next Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed!

I've Had a Rough Day, So Lets Make Cookies!

Oops! Bowling ball on the loose!

That's better! Good job! He is bowling next to the Birthday Girl, isn't her dress adorable!

Daddy and Boo(no Daddy is not asleep, he just kept closing his eyes when I would take a picture)

Eating a goodie that he got in his treat bag.

As promised, photos of Bubbie's first Bowling adventure! He did really well for his first time, his ball only got stuck two times. I think he is a natural born bowler, LOL!

The rest are some photos of what we did this evening. We started off with an early bath because both kids wanted to play in the tub. Bath time is their favorite time of all, but you wouldn't know it by how much they both used to protest when they were younger. It has become more fun for Mommy and Daddy too, now that Boo can sit in the tub with Bubbie and they play together really well! After bath, we had dinner and then Boo went to bed and Bubbie and I made Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Enjoying their bath time play together.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwiches, YUMMY!!

Kid tested and..............................................

Kid approved!

I got the idea to make Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwiches from a commercial that I saw today while the kids were napping. Looked like a great idea and they were a big hit tonight! On the commercial they used Cool Whip, but we only Reddi Whip. Worked just as well and they were so yummy and made my rough day just melt away! Good way to soothe over any stressful day, in my opinion, LOL!

Bubbie's Growing Vocabulary

So as some of you may know, we took Bubbie to Heartsprings for a speech evaluation. Well ever since that day, his vocabulary has grown by leaps and bounds! I'm going to share a few of the things he has been saying. The first thing that comes to mind is, "What is that?" I hear this question repeated throughout the day. Especially while we are in the car, he points to everything and asks, "what is that?" and then we have to play a guessing game to figure out what he is asking about. I'm glad he is speaking more than one word, but I am growing tired of this question.

The other thing that Bubbie has started saying a lot lately is "I want that" as he is pointing to his Easter candy that I put on top of the fridge, so as to control how much he gets. That is another one that I've started to hear over and over again. He also has started saying candy, fruit snack, puppy, kitty, baby, bubbles, ball, cheese, outside and repeats colors to us when asked. As well, as I mentioned that he started saying Mommy clearly, now he has started saying Daddy very clearly. Bubbie also says his sister's name when he hears her crying in the other room or when he wants to tattle on her.

Bubbie recently started, just this weekend, coming to me and pointing to his boody and telling me "stinky," though that could mean wet or poopy. The main thing is that he is letting me know that he wants to be changed. I debate over potty training, but we will see. Bubbie did surprise me with counting to three the other day. He was playing with his magnets on the refridgerator and counting to three while he did so. I was so excited after that, that we started counting everything! Only to three of course, don't want to push our little genious, LOL!

Anyway, I just had to share his recent progress. I don't know where he has been hiding this, but I'm glad he has found confidence in his ability. I also have pictures to share of him bowling, but I will have to add those later because my computer isn't wanting to upload photos, so I have to wait for my computer tech.(aka Daddy) to fix the problem. Until then, I hope you enjoy reading about Bubbie's progress!

Lion, Tigers and Bears, Oh My! More Like Tigers, Elephants and Camels.

An unusual picture of me! Usually I'm camera shy, but thanks to Jillian Michaels and Spanx, I felt confident!

It was difficult to get any pictures of Bubbie, he wouldn't sit still.

Daddy and Boo at the Peanut Prom

Bubbie and I at the Peanut Prom

Of course she was sleepy by this time! Can't you tell by the eye rubbing? I had Daddy take pictures of me, so at least once, my kids know that I was there.

Daddy and Bubbie riding the Elephant(kind of hard to see, may try clicking on it so it opens in another screen).

Daddy wearing his Clown Nose proudly

Bubbie thought Daddy needed a clown nose

Boo waiting patiently for Daddy and Bubbie to come back from the Elephant ride

Boo with her cousins at the Circus

Boo loved the caterpillar tunnel, she kept going back and forth!

Bubbie just kept running around and around, he was all sweaty when we were done.

Boo thought she was big enough to go down the slide, not quite yet!

Boo's favorite tunnel.

(Warning! This is not how I formatted it, but its not cooperating! Sorry if this post is a little confusing)Oh, where to start. We have done so much this weekend and yet it still isn't over. Lets start with Friday. We met up with the Meetup group at the Mall, they have a play area that we frequent. Especially with the weather being so unpredictable. Bubbie and Boo really wore themselves out, that they both passed out on the way to pick up Daddy from work.

Saturday we went to the Shriner's Circus with Grandmom, Aunt M., cousins A, G and LM. It was really a lot of fun! Daddy and Bubbie rode the Elephants and then Bubbie and I rode the Camels(but of course there aren't any pictures of that, because I take all the pictures). Bubbie really liked the Tigers, he kept calling them "kitty." I think it was the first time Bubbie has actually sat through a show and thoroughly enjoyed it, but Boo on the other hand.........well, lets just say it was past her nap time. I'm sure you get the idea! She was fussy, there were moments when she was distracted by the show, but she ended up passing out in Daddy's arms while Bubbie and I were riding the Camels(which was a first for both of us!).

Saturday Night, we had the Peanut Prom! It was fun to get all dressed up in "Cocktail Dress." I loved my dress that I wore that night, it was the first dress that I bought that wasn't an A-line dress. We had also volunteered to bring cupcakes and they turned out really well! Of course I didn't take any pictures of those, but believe me, Daddy did a great job of decorating them! After the Peanut Prom, I remembered that I still needed to get a Birthday gift for Sunday. So we went to Target, yes all dressed up in our duds and yes we did get some looks, LOL! Then we tried to beat the rain and get home. As you can see, Saturday was a very busy day and fun too!

Today we have a Birthday party to go to in Newton. Its a bowling party, so I think that will be a lot of fun too! I think this coming week is going to be our recovering week before my baby turns One year old in TWO WEEKS! (Again, sorry for the confusing format of this post. This site is being a pain today.)
