Last Week Wrap Up

I had really meant to post about this last week, but the time lately seems to escape me. Basically to sum up last week, it was busy.

Bubbie has been going to Speech Therapy every Tuesday and Thursday, since late August. Bubbie has been under the weather this last week/weekend. On Tuesday night, we had laid him down for bed and he began to fuss. When we asked him what was wrong, he said "stuck nose, Mommy." Seriously the funniest thing I've ever heard! Of course he was so serious, so I held back the laughter. It was even more funny when we went to see his Doctor and he told the Doctor that he had a stuck nose! A couple days before this, Bubbie had told me that his "belly hurt, Mommy." Its amazing how well he has began to communicate things just in the short amount of time that he has been going to Speech Therapy. Even just today I asked him if he wanted juice and his reply was, "No Mommy, I have milk." A whole sentence, I was blown away!!

This last Saturday, was Free Admission Museum Day 2009 and we enjoyed two local Museums, photos of which are in the last post. Its a national event through the Smithsonian Mag. website. This is our second year participating in it and we really enjoyed it! Daddy also had to do an EEG on Saturday and hopefully we will get results from the MRI and the EEG on October 3. Then on Sunday, we were all sick with whatever crud Charlie had. We are just passing it around to eachother! Hopefully by next weekend, we will be all well again.

Free Admission Museum Day 2009

Posing in The Mid-America Indian Center

I LOVE Carousel Horses, so we had to have a photo taken with this one. This one was so beautiful and very detailed!

Some passers by were nice enough to offer to take a photo for us, they were really good at taking pictures!!

Family photo with The Keeper of The Plains. This was our first time going to see it, rather than just driving by. I hope to return soon so we can see the Ring of Fire at 9pm, daily.

This is one of the several that make up the Ring of Fire

I love this bridge!

Daddy posing with Bubbie and Boo at Botanica, The Wichita Botanical Gardens.

One with Mommy, of course!

This is now one of my favorite photos of Bubbie. It really captures his personality and I just love his smile!

Bubbie showing off his new Fireman Rain Boots, or as Daddy calls them and Bubbie repeats, Das Boot! Bubbie insisted on wearing these all day, despite my bringing along his tennis shoes in case his feet tired of Das Boot.

Like Father, Like Son

I love this photo too!

Backyard Playtime!!

My kids love being outside so much, that they both say "outside!" Its like they take turns, until I give in! I thought I would share a few photos of our outdoors adventures. The weather this week has been quite cool and we are enjoying every minute of it! This is truly one of my most favorite times of the year.

Stay tuned, Saturday is the Free Admission Museum day! There will be plenty of photos to share then too, I'm sure! Happy Fall everyone!!

We attempted an impromtu photo moment, but Boo wasn't having it!

Bubbie loved it!

Weekend With Family

Boo with her Great Grandma! This was the only picture I was able to take because we had forgotten to charge the batteries in our camera, so it died.

This was one busy weekend. We arrived on Friday evening at my Parent's house and called it an early night not long after. Saturday, we did a little bit of shopping and in the evening, we had a BBQ for my Cousin R and his new Wife N. I hadn't seen them since I was 5 mths pregnant with Bubbie, so it has been entirely too long! It was so nice to see them, I had only wished we could have talked more, but they had so many people to say hello to! We all had fun and they food was delicious and I had also enjoyed visiting with my Aunts and my Grandma. It is so rare anymore to have to whole family together. Though we were still missing my Uncles. On Sunday, we visited with my other Grandma at her home and had breakfast with my sister.

Over all it was a great weekend to forget the stress we had been dealing with the week prior. Last Wednesday, Daddy had a seizure at work for the first time since his very first seizure, about 2 years ago. We had thought that the days of seizures were over, being that he was off of meds for a little over a year. Unfortunately we were wrong. Now we are dealing with a varying amount of feelings. Mainly stress and fear. Thursday, Daddy will be going in for a more in depth MRI scan and I have mixed feelings on that as well. I'm not sure what kind of answers we looking for. I think for now, all we can do is prepare for the worst and take it one day at a time.

The Poo Poo Fairy!

There are Fairies, Tooth Fairies and most recently the Binki Fairy, so I say why not a Poo Poo Fairy? Especially if it gets your kid, after so many months of trying to convince him, to go poo poo in the potty!!

Daddy and I were at our wits end trying to convince Bubbie to go poopie in the potty. We had tried every little tidbit of advice we could get! I had even come to a point of giving up on potty training, until I had an epiphany! The Poo Poo Fairy has added some excitement around here and made potty training fun again. We had started out with giving Bubbie little things, like dum dum suckers, dove chocolate and hot wheels. We had tried these gifts before, but for whatever reason it just wasn't motivation enough. When you say the Poo Poo Fairy is going to bring the prize, its suddenly exciting and motivating! AMAZING!!

Tonight was kind of our last hoorah, so to speak. Bubbie has been going poopie on the potty every day since last Saturday night(yay!!) He earned his small prizes, which then led up to earning his big prizes. One was a tractor set that was actually a Christmas present, but because he had received so many gifts last year, we put some in storage. That worked well to our advantage with the Poo Poo Fairy! Then tonight, I bought him a book that Bubbie has been asking for, for some time now. When I arrived home with it, he was napping, so I wrapped it and set it by the TV. When he came out, I told him that the Poo Poo Fairy left him a gift because she was so pleased by the great job he has been doing. Then I told him that when he went poopie, he could open his gift. The poor kid tried for a couple of hours to poop! Finally when we were getting ready to put him to bed, he said he had to go potty and he finally pooped!! Here are pictures of the unveiling of what the Poo Poo Fairy left for him.......

He was so excited, that he actually took the book and music player to bed with him! I cannot believe how well the Poo Poo Fairy has worked. Lets just hope that the trend continues!

Bedtime Stories

Story time in Boo's bed tonight, in the Big Girl Bed!

Bubbie was cheesing for the camera, he sat with this face until I took the picture(he is learning well, LOL!).

Even Pumpkin and Jill are participating for story time!

Labor Day Weekend

As we all know, this last weekend was a long weekend all thanks to Labor Day!! It was a busy weekend. It all started with Thursday. I had a Jewelry Party and did a lot of baking and cleaning. It wasn't a great turn out, but I think everyone had fun. I know I sure did! Friday, Daddy worked a little on tearing out the Kitchen flooring. There is still a ton of work to be done on that. While he worked on floors, the kids and I played outside because it became too dusty and smoky to be inside. Especially for the kids.

On Saturday, we met up with Granddad, Aunt M, Uncle G, Aunt M&M and cousins at the Zoo. Mainly it was Granddad's birthday, so we decided to celebrate it at the Zoo. After trying to keep the group together and dealing with kids, we were all exhausted by the end, but it was a lot of fun!

Also this weekend, our new niece was born on Sunday morning! We went to visit my BIL, SIL and baby that afternoon. This is their third girl, I think they are excited to have another newborn. Though I think they may keep trying for a boy, hehe! My new niece, we will call her FD for now, was so tiny, she was only 6lbs, 10oz. Adorable!

Monday we finished up with meeting Aunt M&M at OJ Watson Park. She brought her new baby, a dog named Maggie and we fed the ducks. Both Bubbie and Boo enjoyed it! Bubbie especially got a kick out of it. They played at the park for a few, but they soon tired of it and we went on to the Mall. Daddy and the kiddos went and played in the play area while I did some shopping. Amazingly I didn't buy a thing, how unlike me! I was actually a bit disappointed the lack of sales the stores had. All and all though, it was a fun, family filled, busy weekend!
